The Balaton tour itinerary runs through smaller villages and allows us the opportunity to peep into local, traditional houses and their yards. Apart from its cultural and architectural highlights, the Upper – Balaton region has a unique flora and fauna that is still visible in its original and authentic environment. Lake Balaton, the largest shallow fresh water lake in Central Europe, sprung up around 25 thousand years ago and is a popular resort now, the settlements along its shore offer plenty of opportunities for recreation and leisure time activities. The region is famous for its wine-making as well.
Tokaj-Hegyalja is a historic wine region located in present-day Northeastern Hungary. Hegyalja means "Foothills" in Hungarian and was the original name for the region. The region consists of 28 named villages and 7,000 hectares of classified vineyards, of which an estimated 5,000 are currently planted. Tokaj is unique among the world's wine regions in having been declared a World Heritage Site. However, its fame long predates UNESCO recognition as the region is home to the world's oldest botrytis wine: Tokaji Aszú.
The Lake Fertő region is part of the Fertő-Hanság National Park that has been specified as a UNESCO biosphere reserve since 1979 and is regarded as an internationally recognised wild water habitat. The tour itinerary runs along the south-western shore with visits to such cities as Sopron and Eisenstadt. Apart from natural beauties, cultural heritage sights enrich our program that includes former Esterhazy palaces. Smaller settlements keep their own local collections, while the whole region together is famous for its wine-making.
We ride from Bratislava to Budapest along the river Danube. The natural beauties of the river and the various settlements along the embankments lend a special charm to the tour. The itinerary does not need any great strenght or experience, because most of the ride is on flat terrain. This tour is recommended to our seasoned travellers who have already seen other sections of the river and plan acquint themselves with different towns and with another face of the river. The Danube Bend is an especially memorable day with its breath-taking panorama during the ride.
Enjoy with us the peaceful nature, the breathtaking landscape of the Danube Bend and the metropolitan hive of Budapest, within one week. Our active holiday offers bicycle tour spiced with gastronomic and cultural experiences.
Lake Tisza is Hungary's second biggest lake. A significant proportion of the lake is part of the Hortobagy National park and therefore is a protected area. The central part of the lake is a well-known destination for eco-tourism, whereas the lower section of the lake offers plentiful options for water sport activities. The key ingredients for a Lake Tisza experience are nature and outdoor activities...
We have been recalling our wonderful memories of the Kali Basin and the cycle trip we took there ever since we left! Especially my son, Gabor's bravery! Cheers Nora, all the best you your family!
Year after year we come together and look back on some of the best days of our lives when we saw many places from a completely new angle and realised it is to much better to splash in the lake after a day's hard work rather than simply walk out of the hotel room and sit by the shore... and let us not forget the fish dinner that we had that night!
